Master of my Heart

Chest to chest our hearts are one      Love isn't a race but I feel I've won           The one who will listen when           I can't hear my own self think      Out of an open mouth roars Silence so loud-I couldn't possibly speak … Continue reading Master of my Heart

Warmth

Your breath on my skin feels like a summer breeze.  Warm and inviting, my heart is at ease.  Like an easel you mix me, swirl my emotions.  We both want more than just going through the motions.  Got me seeing double like drunk in a club. Dreaming of times we spent high above. Our worries … Continue reading Warmth

The American Dream

The dull droning of the air Conditioner blends sweet Chemicals through my hair. We all just want the American Dream, but shouldn't the  cost cause us to care?  Whats enough? Stormy Mind

Flash of lightning, take me under, The depths of my murky mind. Rattled by the roaring thunder, Clarity flees, no peace to find.       Rain drops split the sky asunder, A broken promise leaves blurry lines. Drowning hearts can't hope but wonder, If it'll all work out when the stars align.

“Smartphones”

Advertise yourself,  Like the drugs on TV.  Filter out the bad, S'all good as can be. Like the like for a like, What a virtual bash. Your tempered glass, Bursts in a colorful flash. Notifying of attention, Letting go of time. Try your luck and Throw the lottery a dime.

Breathe

When the wind takes you,  Let the breath go.  Trees move lazily,  Under the first winter's snow.  A pinecone trembles,  Shaking on a stem. To break or not, Is a seeds only whim. Only the nothing, Can verify it's being. What's invisible to the eye Has no less being.

Peaceful silence

The scent of sunflowers in summer. Lilac blooming near a hidden lake. Roses in the first spring rain. I scoot a little closer to the back of your neck, breathing in your scent while gently brushing my lips across your skin.  A sigh of pleasure escapes you. A person here to protect you. So that … Continue reading Peaceful silence

Sultry Night

The sultry night hung heavy, Like moist towel smothered air, Neighbors snuggled tenderly, No chance of a bugaboo scare.   My city snored while I wrote, Until a melody danced to my ear. "An insect symphony!" I'd rapturously dote. Nature soothes... if only you could hear.

What Good is a Flower?

"What good is a flower?" The boy said in disgust. "You can't eat it or use it, Why it's no better than rust!"   The Copycat replied, "Why it's no better than rust? Boy, you've answered yourself. Life is beauty before dust."
